Haiku - Cemetery

Cemetery

name on old grave stone
no one left here to know them-
one day is our fate

When visiting the cemetery and seeing really old grave stone dates and names. I wonder who they were? What life was like then for them? What the town was like then were they lived? Much different... no cars. They used horses and fireplaces. The fashions ect.

Really the cemetery is the place I have felt closest to God. Thinking about all those souls. I know there is more then just this earthly place. But now is the time to think about what to do with this life... I am reminded while there.

Flame - Haiku

Flame

from the held lantern
the flame burned in the night-
a beacon of hope

Haiku - Silence

Silence

the evening silence-
crickets chirp by the window
cool Summer stillness
